Having been spurned by Nolan Carroll, who opted to return to the Philadelphia Eagles this week, Ian Rapport of NFL Network reports the Dallas Cowboys are playing host to free agent cornerback Leon Hall, a nine-year NFL veteran who has spent his entire career to this point with the Cincinnati Bengals.
Hall stepped into a reserve role in 2015, but played well on a very good Bengals defense, registering 55 tackles, nine passes defended and a pair of interceptions.
A first round pick out of Michigan in 2007, Hall’s best season came in 2009, when he posted 58 tackles, 24 passes broken up and six interceptions. He earned Second Team All-Pro honors for his effort.
Meanwhile, the Cowboys are still trying to get a handle on the cornerback position. Morris Claiborne is returning on a one-year deal, and while Brandon Carr will likely be cut, no move has been made yet.
