Bryant Remains Open To Returning Punts

Dez Bryant has returned punts off-and-on since joining the team in 2010

As we learned recently, despite the fact that he suffered a deep thigh bruise on a punt return last season, Dez Bryant isn’t a big fan of the rule change that will require all players to wear thigh and knee pads beginning in 2013. Apparently the injury, which caused Bryant to miss a game, hasn’t soured him on the idea of returning punts, either.

"I love to compete," Bryant said, per the Dallas Morning News. "Wherever coach needs me, I'm going to be there. I feel like that's my job to do the best that I can and do as much as possible. I just love making plays when I'm given the chance."

Dallas will obviously take health into consideration when deciding whether or not to use Bryant as a return man in the future, but (like Bryant himself) they certainly won’t dismiss the idea.

"He's quite a weapon," Owner Jerry Jones said, "and I'm for using him."
