Bruce Carter Says He'll Play Against Redskins

Carter missed Sunday's loss to the Packers with a hamstring injury

The Dallas Cowboys’ Bruce Carter said this week that he will return to the lineup against the Redskins in Washington on Sunday, after missing the loss to the Packers last week with a hamstring injury.

My job is to try to lead the defense to a victory and just play as good as we can,” Carter said, per the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “When things get out of hand, try to get everybody to calm down and just try to get back to our game plan and play sound. I’m up for the challenge. I know what’s ahead of me, and we just got to go out there and execute.”

Carter joined Sean Lee last week on the inactive list and, while Carter will return against the Redskins, there’s a good chance that Lee will miss the final two games with a neck injury. Which makes Carter’s presence all the more crucial for the defense.

“With me having the experience I do have, my job, I just want to go in there and get everybody lined up,” Carter said. “I think once we can get everybody lined up and get into position where we need to be, I think things will kind of fall into place and it’ll flow a lot better. If we can get that done, I think we’ll be great.”
