Bruce Carter Fighting For Snaps

Carter saw his playing time pared down in the loss to the Cardinals

Last week, Bruce Carter was informed that he would lose some snaps to Kyle Wilber and, sure enough, he saw significantly fewer snaps than Wilber in the loss to the Arizona Cardinals.

Carter wasn’t happy about that.

It’s very frustrating,” Carter said, per Jean-Jacques Taylor of ESPN Dallas. “My mom told me to control what I can, and that’s what I try to do. Hopefully, everything else will work itself out.”

Carter started this season on a bit of a hot streak, with 25 tackles, a sack and an interception in the first five games before going down for three games with a strained quad. Arizona marked his return from that injury, and he didn’t record a tackle.

“We've been playing a lot of different guys at linebacker, and Kyle Wilber has deserved some opportunities to play,” said head coach Jason Garrett. “We’re going to play the best guys. When you have a few different options that’s good for your team. When you create competition for roster spots or playing time that's a good thing. We’re going to keep rotating things to see who wants it more and who deserves it more.”
