Bruce Carter Breaks a Finger

Carter suffered the injury during Thursday's practice session

Dallas Cowboys linebacker Bruce Carter suffered a broken finger in practice on Thursday, but expects to play in Sunday’s matchup with the Arizona Cardinals.

The injury occurred in one-on-one drill when Carter got the finger caught in Lance Dunbar’s pads. He underwent an MRI at Valley Ranch before heading to a hospital to re-set the finger.

We’ll just wrap it up and I should be fine,” Carter said, per ESPN Dallas.

With Justin Durant done for the season, there’s a chance Carter could be moved from the strong side to the weak side this week. But nothing is set in stone yet.

“I think for everybody, all the linebackers, everybody has to step up,” Carter said. “Everybody’s role gets a lot better so we got to really prepare well. Me, Rolando [McClain], all the younger guys we really got to step up because Justin was a huge part of our defense and we’re really going to miss him. But everybody has to step up.”
