Brees on Ware: “He's a Stud”

DeMarcus Ware will likely return to the starting lineup on Sunday in New Orleans

Cowboys defensive end DeMarcus Ware will likely return to the starting lineup on Sunday after missing the last three games with a strained quad. This is great news for the Cowboys and potentially not-so-great news for New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees.

He’s a stud. He’s such a stud,” Brees said of Ware this week, per the Dallas Morning News. “He’s a guy you’ve got to have a plan for at all times. Where is he? How you protect [against] him? How you take care of him? All that stuff. You know the leadership he brings. You know the productivity that he brings. He’s just a game-changer, so you’ve always got to be ready for him.”

Ware has four sacks of Brees in his career, total. Of these, the most memorable was a strip-sack in the fourth quarter of the team's 2009 meeting that clinched a 24-17 win over the then-undefeated Saints. Brees and co. didn’t dwell on that loss for long, though, as they were busy going to and winning the Super Bowl.
