Cowboys defensive end DeMarcus Ware will likely return to the starting lineup on Sunday after missing the last three games with a strained quad. This is great news for the Cowboys and potentially not-so-great news for New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees.
“He’s a stud. He’s such a stud,” Brees said of Ware this week, per the Dallas Morning News. “He’s a guy you’ve got to have a plan for at all times. Where is he? How you protect [against] him? How you take care of him? All that stuff. You know the leadership he brings. You know the productivity that he brings. He’s just a game-changer, so you’ve always got to be ready for him.”
Ware has four sacks of Brees in his career, total. Of these, the most memorable was a strip-sack in the fourth quarter of the team's 2009 meeting that clinched a 24-17 win over the then-undefeated Saints. Brees and co. didn’t dwell on that loss for long, though, as they were busy going to and winning the Super Bowl.
