Brandon Carr Off to Jolly Ol' England

Brandon Carr will be in England this week. But, no, don’t commence the criticism of the Cowboys playing too much golf.

Carr won’t be across the pond for the British Open, but instead to help promote the NFL’s three – that’s three – regular-season games in 2014.

Carr, the Cowboys’ cornerback, will join Falcons’ defensive end Osi Umenyiora, Lions’ linebacker Stephen Tulloch, Jaguars’ corner Will Blackmon, Dolphins’ defensive end Cameron Wake and Raiders’ offensive tackle Menelik Watson on the promotional tour. For the first time the NFL will hold multiple games in London during the regular season – Miami-Oakland Sept. 28, Detroit-Atlanta Oct. 26 and Dallas-Jacksonville Nov. 9.

The Cowboys last played a game in London in 1993, way back when Jimmy Johnson was the coach, I was the beat writer for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram and Carr was just 7.
