Ben Bass Suffers Separated Shoulder

The injury leaves Dallas very thin along the interior of the defensive line

We’re still a couple days away from the Dallas Cowboys’ regular season opener against the Giants in Arlington, but the injury bug has already hit the team’s defensive line en force.

The latest victim is defensive tackle Ben Bass, who suffered a dislocated shoulder in practice on Thursday. They’ll learn more about the timetable for Bass’s return after he undergoes an MRI, but the Dallas Morning News reports that he’ll likely miss the first month of the season, at least.

If that sounds bad, it’s because it is. Now, with Jay Ratliff and Tyrone Crawford out (Ratliff for at least the first six games and Crawford for the season) and Sean Lissemore in San Diego now, this leaves Landon Cohen as the only reserve on the interior of the defensive line.
