Beasley Hoping to Return for Bengals Game

Receiver Cole Beasley has been sidelined since August 2 with a sprained foot

Dallas Cowboys second-year receiver Cole Beasley might be out several more weeks with a sprained foot, but he’s holding out hope that he might be well enough to play in preseason Week Four against the Bengals.

Beasley suffered the sprained foot in the team’s second preseason game against the Oakland Raiders. He has been going through his rehab work steadily, but according to Todd Archer of ESPN Dallas, a good deal of soreness remains.

“I still haven’t really run yet, but I’ve got to get to where I can run with my normal body weight, then get out and cut and make plants and do things that receivers need to do,” Beasley said. “Hopefully I’ll be able to practice before the week is over, but I’m not sure. We’ll see.”

An SMU product, Beasley finished his rookie season with 15 catches for 128 yards, most of this production coming down the home stretch of the season.
