Barry Church Named to USA Today's “All-Joe” Team

The team was created to honor the league's so-called unsung heroes

Cowboys safety Barry Church has been named to USA Today’s “All-Joe” team, which praises the unsung heroes of the league.

After bouncing back from a season-ending Achilles tear suffered early in 2012, Church finished 2013 with 135 tackles, three forced fumbles (and one recovery, for a touchdown), one interception and six passes defensed. It was the fourth season in the NFL for the Toledo product, who went undrafted back in 2010.

He suffered a torn Achilles' in 2012 but reclaimed his starting post in 2013,” Nate Davis of USA Today wrote of the safety. “Church had a heavy workload behind Dallas' injury-riddled front seven, and his 135 tackles were more than any defensive back in the league.”

Church was the only member of the Cowboys to be named to the “All-Joe” team.
