Barry Church Has a Broken Arm

Church will need 6-8 weeks to recover

Barry Church’s season is over a week early.

Church suffered a broken arm in the 16-6 loss to the Bills on Sunday in Buffalo, as he attempted to tackle Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor and took a shot to the arm from a teammate.

He will need 6-8 weeks to recover, but it will not require surgery and he’s expected to be ready for the beginning of the offseason program.

I won’t require surgery, because it was a clean break,” Church said, per the team’s official website. “So basically I’ve just got to have a cast for about six-to-eight weeks, then I’ll be good.”

Of course, key injuries have become a major theme of the Cowboys’ 2015 season, and that’s not lost on Church.

“We had a lot of injuries, a lot of key players went down this year, but there’s a lot of fight with this team,” Church said. “I appreciate the fight that the defense and the offense had. Hopefully we just continue to grow on that and get ready for next year.”
