Barry Church Dealing with an Ankle Issue

Church will miss the team's Wednesday practice for the second week in a row

Cowboys strong safety Barry Church was held out of practice on Wednesday and Thursday of last week with an ankle issue before returning on a limited basis on Friday and playing against the Seahawks on Sunday. He expects to do something similar this week.

"It's still sore as hell," Church said Tuesday, per the Dallas Morning News. "I had to take some Tylenol and some pain pills that helped me get through the game. But that wore off, so I'm hurting right now."

Church will miss practice Wednesday with that lingering ankle injury, which he suffered on the opening play of the loss to the Giants two weeks ago. He returned in that game and recorded seven tackles. Against the Seahawks on Sunday, he posted 10 tackles, and wasn’t bothered ankle for the most part.

"The pain pills I took were pretty good and I didn't really feel it that much," Church said. "I was heavily taped. I felt it every now and then trying to cut and open it up, but for the most part I felt pretty good."
