Barron Apologizes To Roy Williams

Tackle Alex Barron ruffled the collective feathers of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex on Sunday night when he was seen laughing on the field after his holding penalty negated a potentially game-winning touchdown. Granted, perhaps someone told him a really funny joke, but it seemed hardly the time or the place for any semblance of merriment. Then, maybe that’s just us being our critical selves.

As it stands, we don’t really know much about Barron’s feelings on his miscue, because he declined to speak to the media after the game. For what it’s worth, Barron has made amends with Roy Williams, whose first touchdown catch of the season was stricken from the record by the penalty.

"I just dapped him up, told him, `Don't worry about it,'" said Williams, who sat next to Barron on the team's flight home, per the Dallas Morning News. "He was like, `Sorry for taking a TD away.' I was like, `Hey, it happens.' It's going to be magnified just because it's the last play of the game, yada, yada, yada, but offensive linemen hold every game. Receivers drop the ball every game. It's part of football.

“You don't want it to happen in that situation, but it happens."
