Barber Expects To Return Against Arizona

Cowboys’ running back Marion Barber told reporters on Wednesday that he expects to play in Christmas night’s match-up with the Arizona Cardinals. Barber, who participated fully in practice yesterday, has missed the past three games with a calf strain.

Felix Jones has started, and Tashard Choice’s role has grown, in Barber’s absence, and though Barber will be available on Saturday, just how this will affect the distribution of carries is unclear.

Interim head coach Jason Garrett said on Wednesday that Jones would remain the most heavily used back in the rotation; outside of that, your guess is as good as ours as to how the team will use Barber and Choice.

"We just want to make sure we give each of them opportunities," Garrett said, per ESPN Dallas. "Felix has been the guy who has carried the ball the most this season so I don't see that trend changing. But we want to give Tashard opportunities and we want to see where Marion is physically and if he's ready to go, give him some chances as well."
