Bailey Keeps on Keeping On

K Dan Bailey is a perfect six for six on field goals attempts this season

Going into Week Three, the Dallas Cowboys still have plenty of questions. The kicker position is not one of them.

Dan Bailey has become the best Dallas kicker in recent memory. He’s hit on 67 of 74 field goals since joining the Cowboys in 2011 and is a perfect 48 for 48 on extra points. This season, he’s six for six on field goals and, last Sunday, became the first Dallas kicker since 1993 to hit two attempts on 50 or more yards in a game.

It was definitely rare I guess,” Bailey said, per ESPN Dallas. “If they come up, they come up and it’s my job to try and go out there and put points on the board the best I can.”

Bailey was a rare bright spot in the loss to the Chiefs and while Garrett would like to solve the team’s red zone woes and need the kicker less often, he’ll be the first to tell you that it’s nice to know he’s there when needed.

“His approach is really, really good in terms of how he goes about it every single day to get himself ready to be his best,” Garrett said. “Just a really good football player. We have a lot of confidence in him and we’ll put him in those situations to help us win ballgames. We’ve done it before, and we’ll keep doing it.”
