Cowboys kicker Dan Bailey is set to become a restricted free agent come March and while he’d like to stay put in Dallas--his home since entering the league as an undrafted free agent out of Oklahoma State three years ago--for now, he’s content to sit back and let the chips fall where they may.

Yeah, I’d love to stay here if I could,” Bailey said Monday, per the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “We’ll just kind of see what happens. Hopefully we’ll be able to stick around a little longer.”

Bailey has certainly made a solid case for the Cowboys keeping him around. He hit on 28 of 30 field goal attempts, with a long of 53, and never missed an extra point. The last time he missed a field goal was all the way back in Week 4 in San Diego.

“My goal is just to play the best I can every year, hopefully string a bunch of good years together,” Bailey said. “I think anything that happens beyond that is just part of working in the NFL. So my focus is just to be the best teammate and player I can be, try to perform to my best ability every day in practice and in games. So whatever happens beyond that is out of my control. All I can control is what I can do.”
