Austin Doesn't Mind Extra Attention

After breaking out as a serious threat in 2009, Miles Austin has seen a great deal more attention from defenses this season than he did last season, which started as a veritable unknown. Now, with Dez Bryant out for the remainder of the season, Austin figures to see still more attention from defenses.

But the Monmouth product says that the extra attention, which has limited his production somewhat this season, doesn’t bother him.

“Man I’ve had years with less catches than nine, so that’s not my biggest concern,” Austin said Wednesday. “We’ve got some wins in the last month though, so that’s been the good thing.”

With Bryant’s injury, the Cowboys, and Austin himself, certainly, will rely more heavily on second-year receiver Kevin Ogletree, who, to this point, has no catches on the season.

“I think he has tremendous fight, I think he’s a big time competitor, he’s fast,” Austin said of Ogletree. “Physically he has it--and mentally, as a competitor, he definitely has what it takes to play receiver and play a lot.”
