With a sack and a half in the win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, Anthony Spencer hit a double-digit sack total for the first time in his career, with 10 on the season. DeMarcus Ware, who has 11.5 sacks on the year and has hit double-digits in each of the past seven seasons, was glad to see his fellow outside linebacker to join him.
“I talk to him every year (about that). It’s our goal,” Ware said, per the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “We say, ‘Let’s be the first two linebackers in the league to have double-digit sacks.’ To be that tandem.”
Spencer and Ware are the first pair of Cowboys to have double-digit sacks since 2007, when Ware and Greg Ellis combined for 26.5--14 for Ware and 12.5 for Ellis.
