Abram Elam Signs With Kansas City

Elam spent a quiet 2011 with the Dallas Cowboys

Abram Elam, who is coming off a one-year stint with the Dallas Cowboys in 2011, has found a new team.

Elam was signed by the Kansas City Chiefs this week in order to bolster their safety corps., and provide some insurance as former Pro Bowler Eric Berry recovers from a torn ACL suffered in week one of last season. Safety Kendrick Lewis has also been out, after having shoulder surgery earlier this offseason.

With Dallas last season, Elam had a pretty forgettable year, recording 13 tackles and a forced fumble in 15 games with the team. He was let go this offseason, as the team opted to sign Brodney Pool, formerly of the New York Jets, in free agency.
