44-6: A Year Later

A year ago, we witnessed the biggest meltdown in the Cowboys storied franchise's history. It was a simple mission: win one of the final two games of the season and make the playoffs. The Cowboys responded closing Texas Stadium with a loss to the Ravens, then the infamous 44-6 loss at Philadelphia.

Because of that loss, coaches were fired, so were players. Now, the Cowboys have a chance to take back the division from the Eagles, simply because they were embarrassed last year.

These players promised '09 would be different. Wade Phillips said he would "change" to ensure last season wouldn't repeat itself. So far, they're right. The Cowboys have clinched a playoff berth regardless of today's outcome. But make no mistake about it, the Cowboys are showing up today, to win the division crown.

Immediately after last week's win against the Redskins, every player pointed to today. It was clear they weren't just focused on making the playoffs. It was personal.

They have the blue print on how to shut down Donovan McNabb, and the high powered Eagles offense. They've done it once already in Philly winning 20-16. And because of last year's pride swallowing choke the Cowboys had an off-season full of motivation.

I'm already a believer this team is a changed locker room. I already think these Cowboys can make noise in the playoffs. Show up today at home and win, the Cowboys will once again be among the NFC elite.

My fearless prediction: Cowboys  27  Eagles  20
