The Moth
481 Broadway, 3rd Floor
New York, NY 10013
212-742-0551

What's the deal with getting rid of story time after elementary school? Well, the practical answer is that we now have to read them ourselves, but The Moth a not-for-profit organization takes pride in the craftsmanship of a story. The Moth only allows true stories to entertain their crowd, and their directors work with each storyteller to help form and present their story. Each show has a theme and the stories told during that show dive into and investigate the theme. This is sure not you average story time; performances can be seen on stage or on their radio show now airing on over 200 stations. Also head over to their website to read more true stories or sign up to tell one yourself.

The Chamber Magic Show
100 East 50th St.
New York, NY

Figured out every secret to the tricks that the magician at your 7th birthday performed? Be mystified by Steven Cohen's entertaining yet classy show of illusions. Hosted in The Waldorf-Astoria, this cocktail attire event is limited, creating an intimate show for the special guests. This is not your average pulling a rabbit out of a hat type show, but a mature atmosphere that leaves you questioning yourself in the "I can't believe my eyes" kind of way. In the words of the magician himself, my magic is more of a thinking man's magic. Most of it happens in your head. Whoa, I wouldn't be surprised if he pulled a rabbit out of his hat sipping a cocktail.
