In tough economic times, frugal shoppers are looking for deals and smart business owners are giving them.  Here are a few deals we've found for this week.

The Dallas Museum of Art presents Jazz Under the Stars Thursday night.  Saxophonist Tom Braxton begins performing at 8 p.m. at the Ross Avenue Plaza in downtown Dallas.  The event is free.

A clothing swap and consignment expo is taking place this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Southside on Lamar in Dallas. Bring gently used or new clothing and shoes for exchange or low cost purchases.

The Hotel Palomar Dallas is offering "Time out for Teachers" through Sept. 7.  Those with a valid teacher, coach or administrator ID card will receive the special summer rate of $75 per night.

Gamers can get half price deals on games at Dave and Busters on Wednesdays.  There are locations in Arlington, Dallas and Frisco.

The AMC movie theater at The Parks at Arlington mall has $1 movies every Wednesday at 10 a.m. -- and the buck even goes to charity.

This Saturday, Concord Baptist Church in Dallas is holding "Make a Difference Day."  The church will host car washes, free financial seminars and a free health fair.  The event runs from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.  The church is located at 6808 Pastor Bailey Drive in Dallas.

Friday nights mean "movie night" in Frisco's Square with a free screening of "October Sky" on June 26 at 9 p.m.

The Rose Marine Theater presents "Piano Tango" tomorrow with light appetizers at 5:30 p.m. followed by a classical pianists and tango dancers -- all for free.

Restaurant Deals

Applebee's is offering two entrees for $20.
Ruby Tuesday has coupons offering two entrees for the price of one.
Chili's is pushing a new menu with items priced under $7.
