Gina Campisi, Restauranteur, Found Dead in Dallas Home

Dallas restauranteur Gina Campisi was found dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound Wednesday, family friends said.

Campisi, 26, was found inside a home on the 6700 block of East Mockingbird Lane, the Dallas County medical examiner said.  A family friend told NBC DFW that Campisi's death appears to be a suicide.

An autopsy will be performed by the Dallas County medical examiner.

Campisi, whose name is quickly recognizable around Dallas due to her family's legendary pizza restaurant, Campisi's Egyptian Lounge, was a restauranteur in her own right with the mob-themed Fedora. Just a few months after opening, Fedora ran into some trouble and was closed for a short time before later reopening.
