Drinking in the Dallas Arts District

This week marks the grand opening celebration of the long-awaited Dallas Performing Arts Center, which is hoping to lure the culturally minded to the neighborhood. No renaissance is complete without a guide to the best local watering holes, of course, so let's drink to DPAC.
With a packed roster of opera, ballet and Billy Crystal in the pipeline, the new DPAC has created an excited buzz. Whether it's for grand opening happenings this week, or simply for a show in the near future, you may want to grab a drink while there, and Dallas Arts District has got it covered. In addition to the Winspear Opera Restaurant and Cafe slated to open, there are spots nearby as well.
Dali Wine Bar's indoor and outdoor seating is a cozy, sophisticated place to get any kind of wine the heart may desire. Their extensive list, by the bottle and by the glass, ranges from the cracker jack-cheap picks to top-of-the-line vintages.
For those who wish to temper their culture with a margarita, Jorge's Dallas boasts a bar serving their 50-year-old recipe, plus the Splendita version, made without sugar, and a weekday happy hour.
The throwback entry in our drinking directory goes to the Zodiac Room at Neimans. The posh classic is open for lunch for midday cocktails and popovers- the perfect treat to go along with a matinee.
Within a museum-appropriate setting, the Seventeen Seventeen restaurant at the Dallas Museum of Art matches beautiful design with a menu inspired by the museum's collections and an extensive wine list.
