Metroplex residents have plenty of places to go for a great night of fright. So as Halloween approaches, be seen and be scared at these DFW area “haunted” attractions.

Dallas County

The Strangling Brothers Haunted Circus
For their first time in Texas, this haunted circus is claiming high-tech haunts with high production values in a bizarre abandoned circus maze filled with some strange looking creatures. By the way, if you're scared by clowns, you'll be shaking in your shoes walking through this beast. Seriously, don't go if you're scared of clowns. They're everywhere. DOLLZ Haunted House
An evil presence still resides beneath the subterranean floors of the West End Marketplace. Toy dolls have taken over the factory and are out for revenge. Not for the faint of heart, those "brave souls" courageous enough to enter the world of darkness will be horrified, thrilled and shocked. "Halloween Nights" at Dallas Zoo
More fun than frightening, this event at the Dallas Zoo lets kids come in costume and trick-or-treat throughout the park while getting candy, encounting animals, playing games, and participating in other activities. The even runs from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. every night through Sunday. It's $10 for kids 3 and up, but all younger ones are free.

Tarrant County

Hangman’s House Of Horrors
This classic has been scaring up Fort Worth for over 25years and was featured on the Travel Channel’s “America’s Scariest Halloween Attractions” special, but now, it's taking a final bow. It's the final season for Hangman's, which means you only have one more Halloween season to enjoy their serious scare factor. Click here for more information.

Cutting Edge
Just the location of this place is creepy -- an abandoned meat packing plant now houses a 250,000 square foot haunt. A favorite for haunted house enthusiasts, it's often reviewed as one of the scariest in the Metroplex. This year HauntedHouseRatings.com ranked it No. 1 in the country, so be prepared to have some new gray hairs after a trek through. The location won a Guinness World Record for the longest walk-through for a haunted house, so you know you'll get a lot of boo for your buck. Throw in moving walls, flying corpses, and a easy to get to location in Fort Worth, and Cutting Edge might be the perfect pick this season. Click here for more information.

Terrorplex
Four haunted attractions located in one location with other dark amusements including a Mermaid Sideshow will keep everyone entertained and screaming. The attraction Infected will have you on a military compound trying to escape the remains of a zombie virus outbreak. Will you make it out unaffected? Test your luck... Zombie Manor
With voodoo and dark magic being deep rooted in Landrun Manors dark history. It was only a matter of time before all of those dark forces combined into something sinister and evil. Hordes of zombies lurk all over the premises of this estate so be prepared to try and survive as one of humanities last hopes of survival. Fans of The Walking Dead will enjoy this for sure. Moxley Manor Haunted House
Prepare to face the wrath of the Moxleys as you enter this haunt located in Bedford. According to the Moxley story, the young family had plans to make the location a shelter for trouble youth and local homeless -- before they tortured and killed more than 20 people. This year Moxley Manor will expand and introduce new scares featuring clowns, dolls, and zombies. Click here for more information.

Fright Fest
Six Flag's annual celebration of the darkness offers a good balance of roller coaster thrills and haunted house chills. Not only is it fun to ride at night  -- the Fright Fest turns many monster rides into rides with monsters. Rather tame by comparison to other haunted attractions, the roaming ghouls do provide some surprising sights -- and scares -- while you enjoy the theme park. Click here for more information.

The Boneyard Haunted House
The Boneyard Haunted House features high tech effects and good old-fashioned blood-and-guts scare tactics. In 2006, the Boneyard was submitted to the Guinness Book of World Records as the largest walk though haunted house in the world. The walk through Boneyard is more than a half a mile and includes more than 50 movie-quality sets, some with animatronics. Click here for more information.

Boo at the Zoo
Fort Worth Zoo hosts their annual trick-or-treat festivities Oct. 25, 26, and 27 and lets kids in costume snag sweets and take part in dozens of activities -- all for free with zoo admission. Don't fret, it's not frightening for the little ones.

Rangers Ballpark Halloween Events

There's two options for folks who prefer baseball bats to the kind flying around to suck your blood. The Trick or Tours option takes kids and families through the Ballpark and includes crafts, stories, games, and, of course, treats on Oct. 25, 26 and 31. These daylight hour tours cost $20 for each child and $10 per adult. But when the sun goes down Oct. 28-30, the Ballpark gets spooky. Their Flashlight Fright tours take guests through the ballpark using flashlights to lead the way. The $14 per person fee doesn't include the flashlight, but does promise a couple of things might "pop up."

Collin County

The Dark Hour Haunted House
A brand-new spot in Plano for haunting, the Dark Hour complex includes three shows -- Dominion of the Dead, Coven Manor, and Voodoo Vengeance -- each complete with large-scale sets, theatrical lighting and, of course, lots of scares. Visit the 40,000 sq. ft. facility to find out if this Dark Hour is your darkest nightmare. Click here for more information.

Denton County

The Parker House
Dentonites will love this haunt. With two attractions, The Parker's Mortuary and The Ratliff Sanitarium, the spot centers around the story of Mary Parker's descent into murder and torture after being surrounded by death from a young age. According to their story, Parker is still around the grounds, waiting to add to her body count. Click here for more information.

The Dark Path Haunt
Are you scared of the dark? You will be -- after you visit this 6 acre outdoor haunt with a path that takes you through frightening woods with only one flashlight to guide you. That's right, kids, your group only has one light to guide you through the dark and scary forest area behind the Swisher Courts facility in Lake Dallas. Click here for more information.

Fear Factory Insanitarium
Fear Factory Insanitarium is ready for those patients who are brave enough to walk through the hallways. Dr. Blackburn is waiting for your yearly checkup and to have you participate in some of his "experiments." Just don't get pushed to the reject pile..you never know what you'll find there. Tayman Graveyard Haunted Theme Park
Revamped from the old Addamsville Terror Complex, the Tayman Graveyard park features an abandoned gold mine complete with cramped quarters, dark tunnels and maze-like features. That's not the only thing you'll find at Tayman -- the titular graveyard features ghosts ready to bring you to the grave. Click here for more information.

Screams
Yes, you’ll shriek at Screams, but you’ll also have a great time with the five haunted attractions in the “world’s largest Halloween theme park.” Make sure you bring a good pair of walking shoes, as you'll be covering rugged and uneven terrain on the grounds. Operated in Waxahachie by the same two families since 1996, Screams has a legacy of scaring its “victims” and hits the top of many best attractions list…including this one. Thrillvania
Four dastardly haunted attractions are located on Thrillvania’s property. Whether roaming the halls with some over the top clowns inviting you to their “special” party or performing a séance in a dark and twisted theater. Thrillvania has pulled out all of the horrific stops to put on a scaringly good time for everyone. Located east of Dallas in Terrell, the range of frights and attractions make this a must see scare. The Haunt House
"The Haunt House" offers scare seekers some of the more gory frights. If you are not a fan of clowns wielding axes and mallets that chase after you then stay far away from this haunted house as there are rumors that Spoils the Clown haunts the hallways. Reindeer Manor Amusement Park
Featuring three haunts including the titular Reindeer Manor scarehouse, this complex has 40 seasons of scares under its belt and has been featured in various local and national publications for their frightening attractions. Additionally, they claim to be one of the few haunts that's actually, well, haunted -- they even have ghost tours on the property in the off-season.  Click here for more information.

Chaos Crew Presents (Texas Scaregrounds)
The former Texas Scaregrounds has been re-titled and re-located into Chaos Crew Presents, which features a haunted house called Mischief Manor and an "interactive zombie apocalypse training adventure" they're calling Chaos Academy. While the haunted house may be your traditional scare, we're more intrigued with the zombie apocalypse activity that would have you shooting zombie actors with water guns. Aim for the head.
