LOCAL CRAFTS
Holiday shopping can be hard, but it's easy to find homemade crafts by local artists at the Etsy Dallas Jingle Bash Craft Show today from 3 to 10 pm. at the Sons of Hermann Hall. We like Etsy.com quite a bit to find local crafts, but this offline version should be even better...you won't have to pay shipping. (More Info)
IT'S A MIRACLE
Technically, it's the leader of the Miracles, Mr. Smokey Robinson himself. The soul-singer takes the stage with the DSO tonight at 8:00 pm. Side note: "Tracks Of My Tears" backed by violins is going to make me cry. (More Info)
HEY THERE, BRIGHT EYES
Conor Oberst of Bright Eyes is shedding the peepers for tonight's show at the Palladium Ballroom. He'll be playing with the Mystic River Band, supported by The Felice Brothers, and Rig 1. (More Info)
REMEMBERING "JFK"
This may be the best way to remember the assassination of President Kennedy on the 25th anniversary of his death: the Texas Theatre (yeah, the one Oswalt was captured in) is showing Oliver Stone's Oscar winning "JFK" tonight at 7:00 pm. Take a trip to Dealey Plaza before you attend the screening. (More Info)
COAL MINER'S DAUGHTER
Loretta Lynn is one of the classic country singers neophytes like Taylor Swift wish they could be. Check out his coal miner's daughter at Billy Bob's Texas tonight at 10:30 pm. (More Info)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DOUBLE WIDE
The venerable Double Wide in Dallas is having a 5 year anniversary party they're calling the "Outhouse Hootenany." Why go? Listen to this bill: Lions, Baboon, Dove Hunter, Record Hop, Pikahsso & Tahiti. We'd be there if it was JUST Record Hop, but we're working...tonight at 9 pm. (More Info)
