HONKY TONK VEGETARIAN: The essential American celebration gets a punchy twist at the Old Monk with melonades and a veggie hot dog option for patrons who'd otherwise rely on three helpings of potato salad. Black & Blue pays tribute to the Rolling Stones starting at 9:30PM.

ART OF ALLEN: It helps to be in just the right mode of snooty introspection before attempting to make it through a Woody Allen film. If you can't see "Whatever Works" in a New York art house, catch a screening tonight at our favorite Fort Worth gallery as part of the Magnolia at the Modern series. 6 and 8PM.

DO WHA? The Dallas Doo-Wops do what some "oldies" stations have ceased to do in recent years: supply songs mostly from the fifties. Crown a fro-yo date or introduce to "In the Still of the Night" with a performance by the quartet at Pocket Sandwich Theatre, 6:15 PM.
