Bash is as Etsy as One, Two, Three

It’s as easy as one, two, three to click your mouse on your computer and find hip, cool, one-of-a-kind handmade items on the website Etsy.

Well, now you have the chance to take a peek at local Metroplex artists’ homemade goodies at the Etsy Dallas Handmade Bash on Saturday.

Etsy prides itself on being a hub for artists to sell their handmade items in a public place for consumers to buy. Categories to browse these collectibles range from jewelry, to ceramics and pottery, to woodworking and much more.

Now that you’ve got a little background information on Etsy (if you weren’t already in the loop), here’s some more dish on what exactly an “Etsy Bash” entails. With a DJ, cocktails, free beading craft table, photo booth, goody bags and a raffle, this bash is far from your average arts and crafts party; in fact, it’s much more hip.

Things we are looking forward to? Haute Hardware Jewelry by designer Erin Hanrahan, which featured a leaping rabbit necklace made with antiqued brass that we loved, and Eye on the Sparrow Designs, which creatively recycles used guitar and bass strings to make earrings and necklaces -- perfect with our “go green” theme.

So be sure to attend this party and get some handmade wares that will make friends think you dropped a lot of dough to get these one-of-a-kind pieces, when in reality, you didn’t. Our secret.

The bash is on Saturday, May 1st, and goes from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 1409 South Lamar in Dallas. Entrance is free.
