METEOR SHOWERS BRING WINTER FLOWERS?: Though the best viewing times will be between 1 a.m. and dawn Tuesday morning, Monday night brings the first bits of an "above average performance" of the Leonid meteor shower. For best results, try to get away from the city lights so you can see plenty more than just the big ones.
A THOUSAND POINTS OF LIGHT: Former first lady Barbara Bush hosts "A Celebration of Reading" at the Meyerson Symphony Center tonight at 7:00 p.m. The event features readings by best-selling authors like Jeff Engel, AJ Jacobs, and Mary Tyle Moore, then wraps up with a light supper. It's certain to be an upper-crust type of event, but we'd put on our black-tie duds for Dubya's Mom and Mary Richards.
ART IN SPAAAAACE: Irving's Art Center plays host to an exhibit from the NASA Art Program and the National Air and Space Museum through November 22. Artists like Annie Leibowitz, Norman Rockwell, and Andy Warhol all have pieces displayed in the exhibition which celebrates 50 years of NASA and space exploration. Going today has a little more significance -- we have liftoff on a shuttle mission and meteors in the sky...
