FAMOUS FUR: What do Kinky Friedman and Owen Wilson have in common? Photogenic pets. Featuring famous nurturers of the masses like Dr. Phil and Laura Bush and their lesser-known beneficiaries, Top Dogs and Their Pets by David Woo looks at the animal buds responsible for keeping big names sane off the set. Woo brings videos and stories of the hairy production to The Modern for a signing. Pat Green and Dean Fearing are among the subjects tagging along to lend their John Hancocks -- who knows, they might bring some friends, too. 6:30PM.

BOSS-A BRAZIL: There's a breeze blowing into the Winspear tonight. Oscar Castro-Neves brings his A-grade bossa nova guitar to a Dallas audience, using chops he's lent to performers from Stan Getz to Michael Jackson. 8PM.

BALDING BEAUTY: Todd Barry (third Conchord, Flight of the Conchords) has the least threatening voice of any comedian we know, complete with volume control and general subtlety. He'll sooth you into stitches with his cheeky, smarty-pants act at at the Addison Improv tonight. 8PM.
