UNT Student Crowned Miss Texas

Miss. North Texas Kristen Blair wins the Miss Texas 2009 title.  She is a 22-year-old University of North Texas student who also won the Miss. Talent title for her vocal ability.

Kristen Blair, competing as Miss North Texas, has won the Miss Texas crown and will represent the Lone Star State at the Miss America pageant.

Blair, 22, a junior studying vocal performance at the University of North Texas, won a $12,000 scholarship at the competition.

The Miss America pageant is scheduled for January in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Taylor Lowery, 16, was crowned Miss Teen Texas.

Taylor was a runner-up in last year's contest when she competed as Miss Teen Plano.

She represented Frisco at this year's contest.
