If you've got a coffee habit to nurse but want the option to buy fair trade beans from local roasters, these two companies can fix you up.

Denton

If you can get past the guard cat on the steps of Bookish Coffee, a fancy Ziplocked bag of, say, Bolivia Fair Trade Organic could be yours to grind fresh. Brian Daskam gets four varieties of roast ready in an American-made, gas-fired roaster and delivers the goods to subscribers within the 76201 area for free. Pickup is a viable option, feline security or no, as shipping costs two extra bucks.

The deal: One half-pound bag of any coffee, including a decaf choice, is $5 to try.

The splurge: A 12-time commitment costs $56.95 without shipping.

P.S. Daskam offers inside info on processing and other coffee chemistry at his blog.

Dallas

At the Bolsa farmer's market this weekend, we heard an Oak Cliff Coffee roaster correctly identify a subscriber and his regular order after hearing only the customer's address. This even as the company's busy catering to businesses in downtown Dallas and Oak Cliff residents, offering both subsets free delivery. A range of roasts includes a couple interesting-looking custom blends, like Hidden City Espresso Blend for darker tastes.

The deal: The Roaster's Choice sample order gives you 4 ounces of four different kinds of coffee to make a one-pound curiosity tamer.

The splurge: At $45 per month, Oak Cliff Coffee will incrementally deliver four pounds of coffee at twice-monthly deliveries to your place if you're in the coverage area. This is still a deal for caffeine junkies.

P.S. Nearby Kessler Cookie Company set up shop beside OCC at the market, and the chocolate chip pecan sample was divine.
